Monday Made-It, Minion Style

Monday Made It July 13
Our school-wide theme this year is Superheroes in Training, so I needed a theme for my bulletin board.  Well, since I love the minions and the new movie is coming out soon, I had to find a way to incorporate minions + superheroes together! Thus, after some Pinterest and other searching, I found my new bulletin board.

First, I printed the minions from Buzzfeed, glued to construction paper, laminated, and cut out.

Here are the 9 minions, all dressed up as (Left to Right): Thor, Superman, Spiderman, Captain America, Green Lantern, Black Widow, Nick Fury, Iron Man, Batman, and Hawkeye (had to get at one woman in there!

Next, I wrote up a caption for each of them to add to the board.

Finally, I purchased some glittery and patterned scrapbook paper, in yellow of course, to write out my title:  A MINION Ways to be a Hero.

Here it is on the board!

Second, I finally got a magnetic whiteboard installed this summer, so I've been looking for things to attach to it.  I wanted to get some magnetic containers with lids, but they were all running $10 or more for 3 of them.  So, I decided to get crafty.  I bought the blue and green containers below at Dollar Tree (2 for $1, lots of pretty colors), and I got the magnets for $1.75 at Joann's with a 50% off coupon.  Hot glue one magnet to one box, and now I've got 4 containers for paper clips, post-it notes, rubber bands, and push-pins at my fingertips!

I forgot to take a picture of the final product, so I will update this after I get the real pic!

    1. Thank you so much Vicky, I'm glad you liked it! The comments, besides all the cutting, definitely took me the longest to make sure I had them sounding like the character they belong to.

    1. Thank you so much! I too love the Minions, I thought about trying to make a life-size Gru on the side of the board, but my craftiness limit was up.

  5. The minion bulletin board would go over really well with one of my coworkers... She is *obsessed* with minions!! Haha!! I like it! I'm impressed by the creativity in the speech bubbles. I am not that clever when I'm trying to come up with bulletin boards! Kuddos!

    1. Thank you, I'm becoming slightly obsessed myself! If I didn't already have a color scheme going in my room that would be hard to change, I'd probably be minion crazy! As for the speech bubbles, I am really shocked that I was able to come up with them all, I'm normally not creative with wording and puns at all, thanks for thinking that I am (haha) :)

    1. Haha, I wrote "Use technology for GOOD not Evil." It's a bit lame, but all I could really come up with.
